Stylist vs. Styling Yourself.

I don't mean to sound dramatic BUT clothing can make or break a shoot. You are getting into the fashion industry and shouldn't overlook your wardrobe.

The perks to hiring a stylist is that you have a professional pulling clothing specific to each agreed upon look. They come equipped with tools to temporarily tailor the clothing to fit your body shape. They bring layers and accessories to complete each look and act as a second pair of eyes to make sure everything is in place. With that said, I know it comes at a price (on average a stylist changes $75-85 per look for a total of $250).

I am totally okay with you styling yourself, but it does involve a bit of work. You'll need to study the mood boards and current fashion trends to find outfits that make a statement. Since most of us don't have designer closets, the best way to style yourself is to buy and return. This allows you to pick wardrobe options that are more out there and fun without being stuck with them forever and it only costs you your time. You can also borrow from friends and family or even find some really cool pieces at thrift stores.

If you decide to style yourself, don't hesitate to lean on me for guidance or advice.
